Temperament: Abyssinians are high spirited and intelligent, inquisitive and loyal. They are soft-spoken, loving, personable, and likes to have alot of attention. They get along well with children and other pets but they are not a lap cat.
Colors: Lavender, blue, chocolate, black silver, fawn, sorrel ruddy and sorrel silver.
Origins:
Largely developed in England, the Abyssinian is believed to have originated from cross breeding an Egyptian female kitten called Zula and an English tabby. All Abyssinian in Europe, America and Australia are believed to have been descended from Zula.
The Abyssinian is one of the most popular short hair breeds in the USA and is also one of the oldest and accepted. The first Abyssinian registered in England dates back to the 1890s.
